State of the Art in European RTD - Software Architecture & Components -
With respect to the objectives of the current project, the following EU RTD projects have to be mentioned as the best representatives: COACH (Component Based Open Source Architecture for Distributed Telecom Applications, see also MODA-TEL) - an open source implementation based on the CORBA Component Model and realised as a framework intended for telecom applications.
Engineering of Service Functionality
The ACE-GIS project (Adaptable and Composable E-commerce and Geographic Information Services) aims at developing of distributed WEB-Services with special emphasis to geographical information systems . First approaches are done toward building new as well as integrating and composing existing web services.
The ADAPT project ...
State of the Art - Conclusion
The state-of-the-art analysis has shown the lack of systems for effective collaboration in reconfigurable networks as well as adaptable platforms for the design, deployment and maintenance of web service enabled applications. The present software tools and systems are mostly incoherent and static, which (in the majority of cases) is due to ...
B2B Integration - Workflow Systems - SOA - ESB
The accessibility of services is, however, only starting to take advantage of the latest industry standards such as XML, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI. The latest three technologies are often associated with such "Web Services" concept as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA ), where services implemented by various technologies should be able to interface with other systems using open standards independently of programming languages and architectures.
Project Objectives
The primary project objective is to develop an ICT framework, which enables software and service providers (SMEs, RESs, INDs) to generate and establish open, extensible and reconfigurable development platforms for Web-Service applications. Established in such a way the open platforms consist of coupled and linked INFRAWEBS units, whereby each unit provides tools and adaptable system components to analyse, design, conjointly compose, and maintain services (SW services) within their whole life cycle.
